Dr. Greer Mackie
Greer has been treating in Denver since beginning of 2021 after relocating from an 8-year career in Washington, DC. Originally a St. Louis native, she was excited to attend Washington University in St. Louis to receive her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2013. Prior to, she received her B.A. in Biology at DePauw University in 2010 where she also played Div III NCAA Women’s Tennis earning All American titles. Her history of athletics and love of human biology propelled her towards a career in physical therapy.
She also holds an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) Board Certification granted by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). This certification was established to provide formal recognition for physical therapists with advanced clinical knowledge, experience, and skills. Orthopaedic Clinical Specialists are experts in evaluating and treating musculoskeletal conditions, a distinguished honor that is shared by less than 5% of all physical therapists in the United States.
Through her education & career, Greer has gained extensive experience with patient populations all over the country as well as Guatemala. She has worked with all sports and orthopedics injuries of varying levels ranging from professional and collegiate athletes to individuals trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
She enjoys treating patients of all ages and has special interest in injury prevention, chronic pain syndromes, respiratory dysfunction, headache and post-concussion syndrome. She genuinely appreciates providing successful treatment to frustrated patients that have not found results through other medical and alternative treatments.
Continuing education continues to be a priority for Greer, particularly through the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI). She is a certified Functional Dry Needling practitioner, and has a history of clinical instruction to doctoral candidates in physical therapy.
For fun, Greer continues to play competitive tennis through USTA leagues, take her dog, Sedona, for long hikes and snowboard during the winter months.
What Clients are saying about Dr. Greer!
“I went to Greer after a sprained ankle, but she quickly identified bigger issues where I needed alignment. Because of her, my quality of life and the weekly pain I was experiencing — including grueling headaches — significantly got better. She gave me the exercises and tools I needed to have a better quality of life and understand how my posture and breath are all connected. Not only that but Greer has a comforting and easy to talk to personality that made me feel at ease during each appointment.”
– Laura M.
“I started seeing Greer for help with an injury after my first 100 mile run. Her treatment got me back to running and supported training during recovery. She also diagnosed and helped correct biomechanical issues that have helped me prevent further injury and kept me on track for one of my best ever years running ultras.”
– Hudson M.
“I had chronic upper back pain for years. I tried a chiropractor. Dry needling. Two other physical therapists. None of it really helped at all. Then a physiatrist recommended Greer. I was about to take a 2-week trip and I made a first appointment before leaving. She gave me a couple of exercises, which I did daily, and within just a few days, the frequency and intensity of the pain went down dramatically. I had a great vacation. It’s been a few months now and the pain is still at a low level. I can’t say enough about Greer Mackie. She zeroed in on the cause of my pain, not just temporary alleviation.”
